Overview

My client, medical clinic with several locations in GTA is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse - IV therapy to join their healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, particularly in administering IV infusions and managing complex patient needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong phlebotomy/IV skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

NOTE: This is FT position with hours split between 2 clinic locations - North York and Brampton

Duties

Administer IV infusions and monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications. Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide education to patients and families regarding IV therapy administration, and after-care strategies. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during procedures. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations while handling patient information and medical records.

Requirements

Current Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in a good standing. Experience with IV infusion therapy. Familiarity with EMR systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to nursing practice. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or those with developmental disabilities is a plus. Strong skills in patient assessment, and critical thinking are essential for this role. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to specialty areas are beneficial (e.g., ACLS). Access to reliable vehicle to work at 2 locations (North York and Brampton)
