Job Description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RpN) to join our Family Practice Medical Team. The position is for 18- 26h per week for a 3 month contract. There may be opportunity for contract extension.

The RN, under the direction of Dr Kerry Reed, will be responsible for performing nursing duties in accordance with office policies, professional nursing standards and required legislation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Escort patients into examining rooms Clean and turnover patient exam rooms Assess and perform nursing care and treatment of patient Communicate with the physician regarding patient needs and nursing assessments Assist the physician with any procedures and patient education Ensure adequate availability of supplies and equipment (Sterilize instruments) Enter and update patient information in EMR Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
KEY COMPETENCIES

Strong clinical skills and computer skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Flexible and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment Excellent organizational and problem solving skills Experience with Telus PS Suite Electronic Medical Records an asset Previous experience in a primary care office is an asset
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIRMENTS

Must be certified as Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RpN) in good standing with the College of Nursing of Ontario
