Nurse Clinician of Quality and Informatics provides overall guidance and support to the Managers of Clinical Informatics, Quality Improvement Leads and Clinical Practice Coordinators in conjunction with Nurse Clinicians provides leadership to the Organization in the areas of new quality improvement initiatives, clinical programs/projects, and implementation and adheres to the Fixing Long- Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/22 and other relevant legislative requirements. Leads teams in the development of specialized programs in the resident care and quality improvement areas.


Key Responsibilities:




In collaboration with senior operations team assists in the development of the mission, vision, value statement for the corporation and Homes Works with the Nurse Clinicians, Managers of Clinical Informatics, Clinical Practice Coordinators and Quality Improvement Leads on strategic planning and the setting of annual goals and objectives Provides onsite visits to Kindera Living Homes Provides guidance, direction to the senior management team in the areas of resident care, quality improvement, RAI-MDS and legislative requirements Assists the Organization in the development of corporate policies and procedures in the area of quality improvement, clinical practices and RAI-MDS. Assists the Homes with the development of their annual QIP and progress report and in quality initiatives In collaboration with the Nurse Clinicians, maintains and enhances the electronic health record platform Assist the Homes to maintain compliance with all applicable statues, regulations, and government requirements In collaboration with the Nurse Clinician provides leadership and is actively involved in the development of special programs/projects utilizing an interdisciplinary and interfacility approach. Provides input to external committees and task forces on standards, new programs and quality initiatives Mentors, coaches and builds capacity in Managers of Clinical Informatics, Clinical Practice Coordinators and Quality Improvement Leads Develops policies, procedures and professional practice standards in the area of Quality Improvement and RAI-MDS In conjunction with the Nurse Clinicians, provides guidance and support on new funding initiatives and research projects Oversees the AIS certification of all newly hired registered staff and annually thereafter in conjunction with the Managers of Clinical Informatics. Monitors the Quality Improvement program and RAI-MDS outcomes in the Homes Actively involved in the corporate Resident Quality Inspection (RQI) of each of the Homes in the area of quality improvement and RAI-MDS annually and provides feedback through a written report to each Home. Provides guidance and assistance in the development of action plans and implementation processes aimed at minimizing identified gaps. Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators used by the Homes Aware of employee's responsibilities and follows all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned and as indicated in the job specific orientation. Other duties as assigned.




Qualifications:




A registered nurse with advance courses in gerontology and health care services administration Proven management and clinical experience in LTC Sound knowledge of Quality Improvement processes and systems Expertise in the RAI-MDS and MDS LTCF process and in the maintenance of electronic health records AIS certified as RAI Educator Sound knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/22, College of Nurses of Ontario standards and other relevant legislation Proven experience in facility management Exceptional team building and mentoring and coaching skills a must.
