Role Summary
The Nurse Assistant to the Medical Director plays a key role in supporting the cosmetic division of the practice. This role is ideal for an RN or RPN who enjoys variety, patient interaction, and flexibility. The nurse will work directly alongside the Medical Director to support the full spectrum of cosmetic patient care--from pre-operative planning to post-operative recovery--ensuring patients receive an exceptional, seamless experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Support
Assist the Medical Director during cosmetic consultations and in-office procedures.
Provide pre-operative education and preparation guidance to patients.
Perform post-operative follow-up care, including suture removal, wound assessment, and reassurance.
Answer patient questions throughout their cosmetic journey with professionalism and empathy.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EMR and CRM systems.
Coordination & Scheduling
Coordinate cosmetic patient scheduling, ensuring efficient clinic flow and optimal use of the Medical Director's time.
Assist with rescheduling, confirmations, and patient communication related to surgery and follow-up appointments.
Collaborate with administrative staff to align calendars, clinical rooms, and patient needs.
Collaboration & Flexibility
Work closely with the Medical Director, clinical team, and administrative team to ensure a consistent patient experience.
Adapt to a flexible schedule, including some weekends or extended days depending on surgical demand.
Support the clinic in related cosmetic initiatives, such as patient photography, skincare programs, or laser treatment coordination.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
5+ years of clinical experience, preferably in a cosmetic, dermatologic, or surgical setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, high-end medical environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in clinical documentation and coordination.
Comfortable working collaboratively and independently with flexibility to adjust hours as needed.
Nice to Have
Experience assisting in cosmetic or minor surgical procedures.
Knowledge of post-operative wound care and cosmetic recovery timelines.
Interest in skincare, lasers, or aesthetic medicine.
Experience using OSCAR EMR or similar systems.
