JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation is recruiting, hiring, and training Nuclear Security Officers responsible for the security of the Pickering Nuclear Facility.

As a TERM employee for Ontario Power Generation you will be a member of the Power Workers Union (PWU) hiring hall and will be supporting the long-term life of the Pickering Generating Station. You will receive an attractive wage and benefit package including life insurance, drug and dental plan and retirement program through the Power Sector Benefit Trust. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Nuclear security operations and patrols while ensuring compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
EDUCATION
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Police Foundations, Law and Security Administration, Criminology or equivalent experience normally acquired during successful continuous employment in an enforcement, statutory compliance, military, emergency management field or comparable security environment.
QUALIFICATIONS

To meet the challenges of this dynamic opportunity, you must:
  • Have had successful employment in an enforcement, statutory compliance, military, emergency management field or comparable security environment and successfully completed relevant post secondary education. Or the equivalent qualifications normally acquired during successful continuous experience in enforcement, statutory compliance, military, emergency management field or comparable security environment.
  • Have a valid driver\'s licence and valid standard first aid and CPR certificates.
  • Have, or be able to obtain, a valid firearms possession and acquisition licence (PAL)
  • Have the ability to successfully complete a comprehensive Nuclear Security Officer Training Course, successfully pass fitness, psychological, and medical assessments, and obtain a Level II Security Clearance.
