Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tutoring or teaching, with the ability to effectively communicate and engage with students. This role is essential in providing personalized academic support to help students achieve their learning goals. The Tutor will work closely with students of various ages, fostering a positive learning environment that encourages growth and confidence.

Duties

Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Alberta curriculum standards. Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for students to ask questions and express difficulties. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate notes of student performance and goals.

Requirements

Post-secondary education in progress or completed (Education, STEM, or related fields an asset) Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a classroom setting. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey concepts to students. Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of diverse learning styles. Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning needs. A passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed academically. Bonus: bilingual in English and French (not necessary, but great to have!)
