Position Description
------------------------
The Respiratory Technician will maintain and repair respiratory care equipment in a safe and efficient manner and assist with equipment distribution to intensive care areas.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
Complete performance checks, plan maintenance program and repair for all Respiratory Therapy equipment
Maintain concise, accurate documentation of all equipment in regards to performance checks, planned maintenance, problems and service
Liaise with medical engineering regarding equipment requiring servicing
Maintain spare and repair parts inventory for Respiratory Therapy equipment
Inform appropriate personnel to initiate purchase orders
Assist in inventory control of Department and Program equipment
Advise responsible clinical leaders of issues with respect to equipment usage and stock levels
File purchase requisitions for equipment and supplies required in department and maintaining records
Assist with medical gas pipeline shutdowns in conjunction with responsible Respiratory Therapist
Stock respiratory therapy equipment to critical care areas
Transport utilized/clean equipment to and from intensive care areas
Reassemble respiratory therapy equipment
Assist in the evaluation of respiratory therapy equipment
Here's What You'll Need
Successful completion of Grade 12
Post secondary enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy Program
Healthcare experience in a related role is an asset
Demonstrated technical skills related to Respiratory Therapy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking and decision making ability
Demonstrated commitment and actions to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
