Tasks

Conduct liquid penetrant inspection Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects Interpret and document liquid penetrant inspection Interpret cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts Interpret conductivity meters and visual indicators Interpret radiographs Use electromagnetic eddy current testing methods Establish NDI techniques and calibration standards Set up and operate radiographic equipment Calibrate, test and interpret ultrasonic equipment Set up, calibrate, operate and interpret magnetic particle, eddy current, liquid penetrant, acoustic emission, and infrared thermographic equipment Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations Instruct and supervise trainees Maintain test result reports Test and replace defective equipment or components Set up equipment Mark defects to be repaired Complete detailed inspection documentation Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports Liaise with management, engineers and other trades Maintain detailed repair, inspection and certification records and reports
