Torque Industrial Ltd is a small business in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. We are professional, rewarding, agile, and our goal is to meet the needs of our clients and exceed their expectations in a safe and efficient way.

We are currently seeking an experienced Night Shift Structural Steel and Fabrication JM Welders and Welder Apprentices by hand welding in our shop to join our team. Successful candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, remain composed during high-key situations, and have a desire to join a company that is committed to making quality products and maintaining a safe work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities are but not limited too:

• Fabricate and manufacture metals parts for later assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, procedures, and practices.
• Knowledge of materials and strong understanding of metals.
• Follow blueprint to ensure exact specifications of output.
• Weld or bolt sections together.
• Set up and operate heavy-duty metal working machines.
• Lay out reference points and patterns, construct patterns and templates.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts or product.
• Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, and occasionally life heavy items.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Active participation in company safety program.
• Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• MUST BE CWB Certified in FCAW
• Red Seal Trade Certification is considered an asset but looking for registered apprentices who have gone to school for at least 1 year as well.
• Experienced with common welding tools and procedures, grinding, and blending.
• Extensive experience with reading and understanding Design Plans, including Architectural, Mechanical, and Structural Drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of common welding symbols.
• Experience with and able to demonstrate the ability to work with overhead cranes and unconventional lifts, Including participating in rigging and hoisting operations.

O/T paid after 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week
