Night Production Manager

to join our team. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the Pressroom, Mailroom, and Technical Maintenance departments during night operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Production, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, timely, and high-quality completion of all print production processes.

Responsibilities:



Oversee and coordinate all night production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards

Manage and support teams across the Pressroom, Mailroom, and Maintenance departments

Collaborate with other depts to address any production issues in Creative Services, Pressroom, Technical Maintenance, Mailroom, Shipping / Circulation

Provide responsive communication with senior management, on the production run, equipment and mechanical issues

Ensure all Company objectives are achieved, and all details of each night production run are well documented and communicated

Facilitates achievement of Company objectives in terms of product quality, on-time delivery and customer service

Discovery, creation and implementation of production efficiencies to optimize production processes

Enforces compliance with all safety and health regulations

Committed to continuously improve manufacturing operations and process results while meeting customer expectations and minimizing waste.

Maintain positive employee relations with all staff

Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures

Enforces compliance with Company Policies, all relevant provincial legislation requirements and manages employees in accordance with the respective Collective Agreement

Occasionally participate in Production Meetings

Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:



Proven leadership experience in a print production or manufacturing environment

Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills

Strong understanding of press operations, mailroom logistics, and equipment maintenance

Strong organizational and communication skills

Excellent leadership skills

Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products

Ability to meet tight production deadlines while ensuring quality high standards accuracy and attention to detail

The Winnipeg Free Press offers competitive compensation and benefits package. Remuneration will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
