We are currently looking for a Night Auditor to join our team. The night auditor is responsible for the smooth operation of the hotel in the night and for performing the closing day accounting duties. There will be the potential to work Day Time Front Desk Agent shifts as well.
The successful candidate will be welcoming with friendly attitude, be team orientated, be efficient and a good problem solver. Previous hotel front desk experience is required. Hours include overnights shifts, weekends, and holidays. The duties of the night auditor include but are not limited to:
Greet and register guests, provide prompt and courteous service, and close out guest accounts upon completion of stay to meet Marriott brand high standards of quality.
Communicate with all departments regarding in house VIP's and any special needs.
Thoroughly complete all guest transactions.
Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events.
Balance daily postings for all departments.
Thoroughly check reports and numbers, making sure everything is correct and spotting, reporting and correcting any errors.
Interact with team in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Hotel policies.
Maintain house bank and handle all checks and cash according to Hotel policies and procedures.
Communicate all pertinent information to Managers and Supervisors.
Follow set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds.
Solicit guest feedback via guest comment cards.
Answer the telephone in a professional manner and assist guests with any questions, directions to the property etc.
Minimum Qualifications and Expectations:
Must have at least 1-year hotel front desk experience.
Above average communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Exceptional computer and numeracy skills.
Considerable skills in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have the ability to communicate in English.
Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
Ability to stand, walk and continuously perform essential job functions behind the front desk.
Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. and also has the ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach to assist other staff members, i.e., room attendants, laundry attendants, house-persons, and inspectors to complete Courtyard Marriott's tasks if situation demands.
