Reports to: Front Desk Manager Department: Front Desk Principle Purpose of Job: The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring 5 Star Customer Service Standards, while providing extensive knowledge of products and services offered. Also responsible for accounting responsibilities. Organizational Structure: The Night Auditor is responsible for working with the entire hotel to ensure customer satisfaction and a smooth operation of the Front Desk. Key Job Responsibilities: Night Audit - Ensures all express check outs are done - Liaisons with the security guards to resolve any guest noise issues. - Prepare Registration Cards for next day arrivals - Inputting all departmental daily sales - Balancing all credit card machines to daily sales - Prepare confirmation slips, including postage - Process guarantee no-shows - Verifies and balances daily charges for all departments to customer folios, master accounts and house accounts; makes corrections as necessary ensuring all required documentation is obtained. - Completes in-house bucket check as well as performs account over limit checks. - Runs computer through nightly processing sequence to reset for following days use in balancing of applicable functions. - Audits, records and balances all food and beverage income (postings and charges). - Audits all banquet tickets before postings, verifying the accuracy of the calculations and attaching most recent information. - Prepares and transmits credit card deposits. - Processes all city ledger work to accounting. - Program wake up calls - Update function board - Respond to incoming e-mails, following proper procedures Customer Service - Meet and greet all customers and guests in a friendly and professional manner at all times - Strive to exceed customer expectations by providing exceptional customer service - Provide extensive knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding areas attractions to all customers and guests - Provide extensive knowledge of all products and services offered. - Keep well informed of hotel events through log book, function sheets, and memos on a daily basis - Protect privacy of guests, ensuring names and room numbers are secure - Secure customer and guest\xe2\x80\x99s valuables, utilizing safety deposit boxes - Welcome feedback from all customers. Report customer concerns or complaints to supervisor or Manager on Duty immediately, if resolution is not attained - Offer to assist with luggage upon arrival and departure Operations - Manage hotel at 100% occupancy - Handle all hotel bookings through established reservation system, following proper procedures - Knowledge of all procedures and policies (i.e. cancellations, no shows) - Operate hotel\xe2\x80\x99s switchboard and message center including knowledge of voice mail - Check with night auditor to ensure special requests are handled - Print copies of arrival and departure reports for current day - Stock and organize stationary at front desk - Check in hotel guests, hand out keys, passes, cards, etc. - Check out hotel guests, issue receipts and handle customer billing - Have extensive knowledge of safety procedures, including fire and pool emergency procedures - Operate fire annunciator panel, as required - Coordinate deliveries for bellman, including ordering flowers for packages - Ensure proper procedures are followed when using the fax and photocopier machines - Do accurate cash outs at the end of each shift, while following proper cash out procedures - Operate credit card machines - Filing history documents, following proper procedures - Gift certificate sales, encouraging up selling - Knowledge of DMX Signal Strength music system - Stuff envelops, clean the back office - Back up documents as required General - Communicate any maintenance required to the maintenance department - Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards - Maintain constant communication levels with immediate supervisor - Any other job duties assigned by the Front Desk Manager or supervisor Hours of Work: Shift work is required Qualifications: - Able to take on leadership role - Work independently and as a team player - Professional attitude at all times - Neat in appearance - Follow all policies and procedures - Knowledge and implementation of safety procedures - Grade 12 - Problem Solver - Task orientated - Attention to detail - Strong data entry, analytical and communication skills. - Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, network systems and accounting software. - Able to prioritize and meet strict deadlines. - Flexible, positive and energetic with the ability to work under pressure. - Has an understanding of customer service and is able to implement it on a day to day basis. - Hospitality experience preferred. - Accounting knowledge an asset Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $14.00-$14.50 per hour Benefits:
