Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and customer-focused Night Auditor to join our team at DoubleTree by Hilton Ottawa Downtown. As a Night Auditor, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of our hotel during the overnight hours, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate, and providing excellent service to our guests. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting skills, great attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities:

Balancing/reconciling the accounts from day shift

Managing front desk activity and handling guest check-ins and check-outs

Ensuring customer satisfaction by scheduling wake-up-calls and other concierge activities according to guest preference

Handling customer requests and complaints, making sure they are resolved and directing other employees or departments accordingly

Managing and updating all official documentation pertaining to the role

Ensuring that all end-of-day activities have been successfully executed by employees in all departments

Answering calls and queries related to potential booking

Ongoing understanding of the hotel's products and policies and adhere to the regulations contained within

Handling fire panel and elevators in emergency

Maintaining high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Previous experience in hospitality or front desk operations.

Strong understanding of hotel accounting, financial transactions, and billing procedures.

Proficient with hotel management software (experience with OnQ PM is a plus).

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Bilingual in French and English an asset
