We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our hospitality team. The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during the overnight shift. This position involves managing front desk responsibilities, performing nightly audits, and providing exceptional guest services. Night Auditors are responsible for the guest reservation and registration processes as well as the communication of hotel services, completing nightly reports, audit related duties such as end of day computer tasks and tasks related to the next day to prepare the hotel for daily operations. Other duties may include processing forms of payment and responding to guest inquires. This highly visible role gives opportunity for casual conversation and has a direct impact on creating the guest experience. This is a fast-paced work environment which demands effective multitasking and extensive guest contact.
Position Requirements
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others along with refined verbal and written communication skills, and ability to stand for long periods of time. The availability to work overnight (11pm-7am) shifts with days off that vary from week to week, and the ability to work occasional days/evenings, weekends, including Sunday's, and holidays as required. Experience and a thorough understanding of Front Office operations is considered an asset. Bilingualism or multilingualism considered an asset. Previous hotel experience is preferred but not required.
Duties
Perform nightly audits of financial transactions and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Manage front desk operations including check-ins and check-outs during the night shift.
Process any transactions required for the current or next business day to ensure smooth operations.
Provide outstanding customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Operate multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls and assist guests as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while ensuring all guest information is secure.
Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Prepare daily reports for management review, highlighting occupancy rates and revenue.
Assist with administrative tasks as required, including data entry and filing.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hotel environment or similar hospitality role is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
Proficiency in phone etiquette and handling multi-line phone systems effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while managing multiple responsibilities.
Familiarity with hotel management software is a plus.
A positive attitude, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
