HOURS:

4 hours per day, 5 days per week


JOB SUMMARY:




Under the general direction of the Head Custodian the Custodial Aide is responsible for maintaining site safety, sanitation, and


service in schools and other divisional buildings. The Custodial Aide will work alongside the Head Custodian and Custodian to


perform general cleaning duties and grounds/building maintenance. This position supports the strategic actions of the Multi-

Year Strategic Plan.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



As the Custodial Aide, you will assist in the general cleaning of school/building - maintains the classroom, hallways, washrooms,


ancillary spaces, and grounds in a safe and clean conditions


QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):



Completion of Grade 10 Completion of Respect In School or equivalent training is required. Related work experience in cleaning and or maintenance is considered as an asset Knowledge of WHMIS, Workplace Safety and Health is preferred Ability to operate light cleaning equipment and tools, i.e., vacuum, mops, brooms, duster, etc. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal direction Ability to work respectfully and effectively in accordance with Divisional policies and guidelines Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to maintain regular attendance Respect confidentiality of work Ability to read and write in English Proficient in Microsoft outlook Must be able to communicate in a pleasant, courteous, and effective manner

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:



Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search. Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry. Review and comply with Divisional policies and guidelines. Continued employment is subject to maintaining legal eligibility to work in Canada.
