Job Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, Training:
Postsecondary education in the area of Early Childhood Education, and/or studies related to Education with minimum 2 years' experience working with children and families
Registered and in clear standing with the College of ECEs
Experience in an EarlyON Centre is an asset.
Current Standard First Aid(Level C)/CPR certifications
Excellent knowledge of early childhood development and skill in developing age appropriate quality early learning activities and programs for children from prenatal to 6 years of age.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, take initiative and respect the confidentiality of sensitive information and materials.
Demonstrated creativity and the ability to bring ideas to life.
Requires reliable transportation to travel between Centre locations; flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Requires Valid G License.
Current police records check with vulnerable sector search issued for the Niagara Falls Public Library.
Ability to respect confidentiality and abide by all legislation

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the EarlyON Core Services and programming in alignment with the pedagogical approach presented in "How Does Learning Happen?" (Ministry of Education).
Participate with the children, caregivers, and families in a positive and supportive manner.
Refer families to appropriate community services and resources based on their needs.
Facilitate child and parent/caregiver education workshops as well as indoor and outdoor workshops for families.
Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating physical environment within the centre, embracing diversity and supporting the inclusion of all individuals.
Maintain positive relationships with community partners and other EarlyON service providers based on professionalism, cooperation, and respect.
Contribute to centre-based documentation of participant learning and inquiry.
Work collaboratively with Library staff to ensure open communication and seamless service delivery.
Stays abreast of Library communications.
Prepares statistics and reports as required.
Recommends improvements to services and procedures to better serve customers.
Provides administrative support for assigned areas.
Identifies and resolves service problems, and reports those requiring further resolution.
Provides back-up public services as required.
Assists with specific branch projects.
Reports problems with the operation of physical plant and equipment.
Participates in and contributes towards library committees, meetings, and events.
Stays abreast of professional and community knowledge, in order to enhance services and the Library's community role.
Identifies problems and resolves them when possible
Shares accountability for ensuring a safe and respectful workplace.
Other duties consistent with job responsibilities.
