We are looking for a New Store Opening Manager to join our Retail team!

About the Role

We're looking for a New Store Opening Manager to lead and execute the full lifecycle of store openings from pre-opening planning to post-opening support. You'll work cross-functionally with departments and stakeholders to ensure our stores are stocked, staffed, trained, and ready to impress from Day 1.

This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel to store locations across Canada to oversee site set-up, train new teams, and support the handover to the permanent Store Manager. When not in stores, New Store Opening (NSO) teams will be working out of our head office location at Markham, Ontario.

Merchandising Support & Logistics

Support product selection and track product arrivals to ensure readiness for merchandising and in-store set-up. Perform and oversee the physical setup of displays, fixtures, signage for opening, and ensure store set-up meets brand standards and timelines.

Scheduling & Headcount Planning

Forecast labor needs based on projected store volume and initiate hiring process at least 30 days prior to store opening. Build staffing schedules aligned with labor budget targets and productivity expectations.

Training & SOPs

Train all new hires, including Store Managers, on operational procedures and daily responsibilities. Identify and train a designated team lead who can step in during transitions or vacancies. Develop and implement clear SOPs in the areas of Inventory, Training, Scheduling, and Visual Merchandising, in partnership with internal leads.

New Store Transition & Support

Collaborate and work with general contractors to ensure storey is ready for opening Create and execute a handover plan from the NSO team to the incoming Store Manager, including a clear timeline and training checkpoints. Oversee post-opening support plan (30-60-90 day check-ins) for remote stores, ensuring continuity of training, operations, and performance management.

Leadership & People Management

Manage and mentor the New Store Opening team, setting clear expectations and fostering a high-performance culture. Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to ensure team readiness for each launch and maintaining company standards throughout every store opening. Oversee team workload planning and delegation to ensure efficiency and accountability.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience in retail operations, ideally with exposure to multi-store openings. Strong project management and organizational abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to coach, guide, and influence teams at all levels. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across time zones and with international partners. Highly adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment. Proficiency in French is an asset but not required.
