Can you provide leadership and senior-level expertise in the research, analysis, planning, design, installation, development, implementation, maintenance, support and overall utilization of the network and telecommunications infrastructure. We\'re looking for a Network Technical Lead to support our Infrastructure Services team in our Information Services department at our Servus Corporate Centre in Edmonton, AB.

The Network Technical Leads work involves unique multi-functional and highly technical problems and issues related to supporting voice and data communications, networking, systems operation and systems access and security. Projects regularly have enterprise-wide impact and abstract reasoning, an organized approach to execution is essential to ensure that technology meets the credit union\xe2\x80\x99s on-going business needs. Network members are required to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assessing business and applications requirements arising from projects and initiatives and providing end-to-end design for the implementation of Network changes
  • Planning, designing, and upgrading network installation projects
  • Troubleshooting network architecture and making recommendations for system findings and enhancements
  • Making recommendations for leveraging network installations and reducing operational costs
  • Monitor and review the performance of the network and identify areas for improvement
  • Determining bandwidth requirements, selecting appropriate networking technologies, and optimizing network performance.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing network security measures and protocols to protect the network against cyber-attacks and data breaches
  • Identifying and resolving network issues, optimizing network traffic flow
  • Implementing network performance enhancements.
  • Responsible for documenting the network architecture, including network topology, hardware and software components, and network protocols.
  • Setting technical standards, providing training and support, and helping team members troubleshoot network issues.
  • The Network Technical Lead will report to Manager of Infrastructure Services and work closely to establish standards and governance for Network Services.
  • The incumbent will work independently to determine detailed phases for the progression of work, review and revise standards and practices as applicable.
  • They will establish good relations with key stakeholder and executives to help deliver business needs and outcomes.
  • The incumbent must build and foster strong working relationships with other IS teams and Leaders
  • The role will also be required to build and manage strong relationships with third-party vendors who provide technology products, services and support.
Requirements

To qualify, you\'ll need at least the following:
  • At least 10 years of proven experience working with Information Technology in a corporate multi-platform, multi-vendor environment.
  • Must have experience in F5 Big-IP design and implementation (LTM & ASM).
  • Must have experience in inter-VRF routing and troubleshooting.
  • Must have experience with legacy firewalls, application firewalls, IDS and IPS.
  • Must have experience with VPN to secure WAN traffic and remote workers.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of packet-level troubleshooting techniques (Wireshark, IOS debug, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate experience troubleshooting WAN and LAN topologies.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of network security infrastructure and operations.
  • Must have experience designing, implementing and operating datacenter networks and virtual computing systems.
  • Post- secondary education in computer technology or IT related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) recent network or telecom technical certification [Cisco preferred], with two (2) recent technical certifications highly desirable, certification and a strong background working with hardware and network components.
Although not required, the following experience and education/certifications are valuable assets:
  • Previous experience with financial industry IT systems is an asset.
