Job Description

Overview:Network Operations Specialist will be part of the Network Operations team and their primary objective will be to ensure proper functioning of managed networks, which shall include maintenance, monitoring, management and troubleshooting issues. They will be able to communicate effectively with customers and offer remote support. They will be skilled and experienced in Firewalls, IP Routing/Switching, WAN and Wireless technologies.The successful candidate will have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to work well within a team and independently. They shall be working remote full-time and must be residing within Canada. Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier II support for networking issues by working on tickets and resolving them quickly.
• Perform regular analysis of network connectivity through the LAN/WAN infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot network devices for client base.
• Configuration of SNMP monitoring, traps, and more to support and provide implementation Analyze network management data and compile reports as necessary.
• Provide technical support in Routing/Switching, Firewall, Azure, VOIP and Load-balancing technologies.
• Provide expert technical assistance to customers and our Service Desk.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations to customers.
• Work with ISPs and other vendors to troubleshoot issues.
• Work on-call on a rotational basis and occasionally conduct maintenance activities outside office hours.

Qualifications:

• 5 + years working with Cisco switches and routers
• 3 + years working with firewalls. Experience in Fortinet, Cisco & Meraki firewalls is a plus.
• CCNA is required (Routing & Switching)
• CCNP Enterprise is most definitely a plus.
• Experience with Load-balancers is a plus
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communication or other VOIP technologies is a plus.
• A thorough understanding of VLANs and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, etc.)
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting enterprise wireless solutions.
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting enterprise routing and switching solutions (VRFs, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, STP, VPC, etc.)
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting VPN technologies (e.g DMVPN, IPSEC-VPN,SSL VPN etc.)
• Familiarity in scripting or programing languages like Python. is a plus.
• Understanding of SNMP technology and familiar with network monitoring.
• Skilled and well versed in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.
