Your role:

Part of the Network team specializing in IT Networking, the selected candidate will be the Beyond Road Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IP routing, network virtualization, WAN/SD-WAN, and datacenter networking for projects and level 3 support.

As part of a multidisciplinary North American team, your manager is based in the United States and you will be located at the Michelin Off-Road R&D Center in Magog, Quebec (Canada).

We need you for:
  • Analyze requirements to meet demand and performance of products, systems, services, and data, including, but not limited to SD-WAN and network security component capacity and demand forecasting;
  • Monitor and proactively recommend upgrades to all WAN circuits;
  • Create and maintain all the necessary technical documentation including that for the configuration;
  • Adhere to all architectural design standards, including hardware and network services catalogs. Contribute to network design activity as required;
  • Work on level 3 problems of diverse scope, including escalations from providers, management, and customers;
  • Deliver to our committed SLAs and ensure our suppliers do the same. When SLAs are not met, analyze technical root-causes, and strive for automated and enhanced operational procedures to improve the SLA performance;
  • Work with architects and IT Security when required on design and operational activities and issues when they arise;
  • Develop and maintain expert-level technical knowledge of the network and industry trends in the assigned area(s) and contribute to the team\'s continuous improvement needs and initiatives;
  • Take responsibility in the context of a global team for the logical and physical upgrades of all network components, including SD-WAN appliances;
  • Balance multiple projects and operational priorities while performing other related assigned duties;


What do you need to possess for being successful:
  • You hold a Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or related technical engineering, or equivalent experience;
  • You hold a minimum level CCNA Certification;
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills in French and English, including the ability to present clearly to management;
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in networking concepts including TCP/IP subnetting, routing, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, IPSec, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, SNMP, etc.;
  • You also have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with SD-WAN and WAN architecture and design, including CoS/QoS design and support;
  • You have experience working with Palo Alto and other next-generation firewall and web proxy solutions, as well as Cisco routing, switching and firewall products, including but not limited to, ASA routers, Nexus and Catalyst switches;
  • You have experience managing telecom vendors and global carriers as well as problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and develop an effective and appropriate course of action;
  • You can build routing design and development for new solutions that will be implemented;
  • You have experience using network monitoring tools including SolarWinds, VeloCloud and NetFlow;
  • You can write design, technical and operational process documents for ongoing support/maintenance;
  • You are self-motivated, goal-oriented, proactive and work well independently and as part of a team in a diverse multicultural environment;
  • You are able to work with basic scripting languages and understanding of SAAS and cloud infrastructure is highly desirable;
  • You have already worked with ServiceNow is a plus.
