As a Network Engineer at HostedBizz, you will be a part of a diverse and talented Networking team that works with a wide range of physical and logical technologies in the Private Cloud provider space. As a member of the team, you will be tasked with weekly and monthly customer-facing projects that involve pushing our infrastructure to the next level while staying competitive in the marketplace we reside in. You will be pushing the boundaries on SDN, micro segmentation, logical circuit technologies, data center designs and concepts, etc. You will be working across multiple vendors for networking and security products that support our public and private cloud infrastructure. Primarily, this role will be focused on new customer deployments across our supporting technologies. This candidate will also require excellent interpersonal skills between internal teams and our customers representing the product workload owners. In this role, you will be acting as Tier 3 support to the Cloud Ops and NOC teams as needed outside of regular customer related projects. What are the details? Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage switching, firewall and routing infrastructure across multiple data centers
  • Ensure suitable bandwidth available to support internal and customer workloads across our data center regions
  • Maintain and manage network documentation, including diagrams and supporting documentation for internal workloads
  • Occasionally assist with customer onboarding and/or complex customer support issues
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and solving complex network connectivity issues, adding/modifying NAT entries and firewall rules and initiating routes to enable connectivity
  • Responsible for all Networking/Security monitoring platforms and ensuring adherence to customer and infrastructure SLA uptimes
  • Review and respond to notices/alarms/reports from a variety of monitoring systems across the infrastructure
  • Regularly review logs, incident reports and vulnerability scan reports \xe2\x80\x93 work with application owners and other departments to mitigate and/or correct vulnerabilities or performance bottlenecks in the infrastructure
  • Work closely with data center support staff to implement hardware upgrades and/or deployment of new hardware within our data center regions
  • Engage with vendor support to troubleshoot/diagnose hardware/software/circuit issues as required
  • Identify potential improvement areas across the network infrastructure
  • Utilize approved tools to verify and take required action on events aggregated from network monitoring tools and Web Application Firewall
  • Participate in occasional customer facing projects involving design, diagrams, documentation, implementation
  • Responsible for all data center and regional capacity on physical and logical circuit technologies. Responsible for configuration and support of logical circuit connections across backbone to customer sites and regions such as Megaport, PacketFabric, ExpressRoute (Azure), DirectConnect (AWS), etc.
  • Responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the Opti9Tech SDWAN and VMWARE NSX SDN infrastructure supporting customer and infrastructure workloads
  • Design and implement automation strategies that improve or co-exist with current automation infrastructure
  • Matures our automation strategy using Python, Nautobot, PowerCLI, RestAPI and other automation tie-ins
What do you know? Technical Knowledge and Experience:
  • 2-5 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology
  • 2-5 years related experience with Cisco routing/switching/firewall products including IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and NX-OS service provider level infrastructure
  • Experience with Arista switching products is considered a strong asset
  • Experience with Python, Ansible, or similar automation technology
  • Extensive experience with Cisco/Arista Spine & Leaf Data Center deployments
  • Extensive experience with VMWARE, and VMWARE NSX-V & NSX-T SDN technologies
  • Experience with IP routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Knowledge of network encryption technologies (IPSec, SSL), and redundant routing protocols such as HSRP and VRRP
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as LibreNMS, Solarwinds, Icinga, Zabbix etc.
  • Experience with SASE platforms such as Zscaler, Perimeter 81, etc.
  • Experience working with Fortinet and Palo Alto UTM next gen firewall technologies
  • Experience with wireless technology (LTE/802.11) considered an asset
  • Experience with the Fortinet product suite (FortiOS, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, etc.)
  • Experience implementing multi tenancy using VDOMs within FortiOS
  • Experience with NSX-V and NSX-T implementations integrated with VMware Cloud Director
General Knowledge and Experience:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both local and remote staff, teammates, managers, clients and vendors
  • Ability to occasionally adjust work schedule to meet business needs (standard is 40-hour week, with occasional after hours and weekend requirements in an on-call fashion)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Able to clearly and correctly express complex technical concepts in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments
  • Highly effective in documentation and diagram creation
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of data security best practices
  • Strives to grow within the team and personally as an engineer through education, certs, etc. and must have a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively with minimal supervision
