We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Network Cable Technician to join our expanding telecommunications and networking team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network cabling systems across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure reliable connectivity for data, voice, and video services, supporting the seamless operation of modern communication infrastructure. Responsibilities



Install and configure structured cabling systems, including Ethernet, fiber optic, and telecommunication lines, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Perform fiber splicing with precision to establish high-quality optical connections that support high-speed data transmission. Set up and troubleshoot network hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, and other networking equipment to optimize performance. Conduct network installation tasks in various field environments, utilizing hand tools and mechanical knowledge to complete projects efficiently. Test low voltage wiring systems using tools like ohmmeters to verify electrical continuity and signal integrity. Assist with telephony system setup and maintenance, integrating voice communication solutions into existing networks. Follow safety protocols related to electrical and telecommunication work to maintain a safe work environment. Document all installation procedures, test results, and service activities meticulously for future reference and quality assurance. Provide exceptional field service support by diagnosing issues on-site and implementing effective solutions promptly. Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met accurately and efficiently.

Experience



Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunication or networking systems. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and cable management practices. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet wiring standards, TCP/IP protocols, and network topology design. Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and other enterprise-grade networking hardware. Practical experience installing and maintaining low voltage cabling in commercial or industrial settings. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, drills, and testers effectively. Electrical experience or background in telecommunications is highly desirable. Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately. Service technician experience working in diverse environments with a focus on safety and quality standards is preferred.
