We are searching for an experienced Network Analyst on a contract employment basis for our Calgary-based client in the energy sector. This hybrid Network Analyst role is a 4+ month contract opportunity for an experienced candidate with expertise in both Palo Alto and Aruba to assist with both project-based and operational responsibilities daily. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, configure, and deploy Palo Alto and Aruba network solutions tailored to meet the organization\'s requirements.
  • Implement and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, and other network devices while ensuring adherence to security best practices and industry standards.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify areas for improvement to guarantee network reliability and performance optimization.
  • Work closely with the IT support team to address network-related incidents and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing within the IT department.
Requirements:
  • 5-7+ years\' experience as a Network Analyst or similar role, with hands-on expertise in deploying and managing Palo Alto and Aruba network solutions.
  • Experience with MPLS networks, specifically Telus MPLS telecommunication networks.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Experience with network security principles and best practices, including firewall configuration and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network performance issues.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and convey technical information clearly.
  • Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA), or equivalents, are a plus.
  • Knowledge of other network technologies (Nexus, MPLS etc.) will be considered an advantage.
