Job Description

Dougall Media, Thunder Bay's only locally owned broadcast and multimedia company, is hiring a full-time Network Administrator to join our IT team.

This role offers hands-on experience maintaining secure, high-availability network systems. You'll monitor, troubleshoot, and support the network infrastructure that powers our broadcasting and digital operations.

Responsibilities:




Software Administration and Support

Administer, maintain, and optimize open-source, custom, and packaged software platforms used across the organization. Manage user access, permissions, and configurations for key systems. Provide responsive desktop and application support to company-wide users, ensuring timely issue resolution and clear communication. Coordinate with vendors and external partners for system updates, patches, and troubleshooting when required.

Business Analysis and Requirements Development

Work with internal departments to understand business needs and translate them into clear, actionable technical requirements. Map existing processes and identify opportunities for automation, system improvement, or integration. Collaborate with end-users to document workflows and pain points, ensuring technology solutions align with real operational needs. Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new software solutions or enhancements to existing systems. Prepare business cases, technical documentation, and project specifications for management review.

Software Development and Integration


Develop, maintain, and document custom scripts, utilities, and integrations to improve workflow efficiency.

Design and implement integrations between existing systems using open APIs and custom API development. Work with business units to identify automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutions.

Required Credentials & Skills:



Computer Science degree or college diploma in a relevant field or equivalent experience Minimum 2 years in IT administration, computer technology, or software support familiarity with Microsoft AD, Virtual Machine technologies and Linux operating systems would be considered as assets. Valid driver's license
