, you will oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing management of client and internal network and server infrastructures across iSpire's managed environments. You will ensure reliability, security, and scalability across all systems, leading a technical team responsible for proactive maintenance, performance optimization, and technology innovation. We are looking for a
Server & Network Pillar Lead
to join our team. In this role, you'll be leading a technical team building/expanding, supporting and proactively maintaining both internal and external customers infrastructures, while ensuring a great customer experience.
What You'll Do
Infrastructure Strategy & Implementation
Design, implement, and maintain robust server and network architectures that support multi-tenant managed services environments.
Develop strategic roadmaps for network and server lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with customer needs and best-practice standards.
Oversee deployment and configuration of network and server systems including switches, firewalls, routers, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage solutions.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve infrastructure performance, scalability, and resilience.
Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery measures are in place across all supported environments.
Operations & Optimization
Manage daily operations of the Server and Network pillar, including maintenance, patch management, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives in monitoring, alerting, and automation to enhance service delivery and response times.
Oversee configuration management, backup and recovery strategies, and standard operating procedures for server and network administration.
Collaborate with the Help Desk and Centralized Services teams to resolve escalated incidents efficiently and prevent recurrence.
Security, Compliance & Reliability
Work closely with the Cybersecurity and vCIO/Technical Alignment Manager teams to ensure secure infrastructure configurations that meet compliance standards (ISO, NIST, CyberSecure Canada).
Implement network segmentation, access controls, and encryption where appropriate to safeguard systems and data.
Ensure consistent monitoring, logging, and auditing of network and server systems for performance and security anomalies.
Participate in infrastructure risk assessments and business continuity planning.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and mentor a team of server and network specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
Collaborate with Project Services and Development teams on customer rollouts, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Provide technical leadership and consultation to management and clients regarding infrastructure performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Participate in strategic planning with other pillar leads to align infrastructure operations with iSpire's overall MSP objectives.
Documentation & Standards
Ensure comprehensive documentation of all systems, configurations, and processes in ITGlue or equivalent platforms.
Standardize builds, deployment templates, and maintenance procedures across client environments.
Maintain accurate topology diagrams, inventory, and lifecycle records of all critical assets.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a senior infrastructure or network leadership role, ideally within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
Deep technical expertise with Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and core networking technologies (LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN).
Strong understanding of Fortinet, or similar network ecosystems including routing, switching, and firewall management.
Proficiency with monitoring tools and ticketing/automation platforms (e.g., Kaseya, Autotask).
Experience implementing high-availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong documentation discipline and familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills; able to collaborate across teams and translate technical concepts for management and clients.
Other duties as assigned by management.
