Position Summary:
Acuren is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking NDT UT 2 Technician to support operations on our site located in Kitimat BC.
LNG Canada is nearing completion of the first LNG export facility in Canada and we have been awarded the maintenance contract for this site.
Acuren will be providing the maintenance services utilizing rope access technology and all NDT Technicians will be required to obtain IRATA Training and Certification

• Position is based locally in Kitimat BC. (relocation is required)
• Immediate start date
• Position will be 40 hrs/week and possible overtime
• Rate will be up to $52.81 to 57.36/hr depending on certifications
• We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out UT inspections on welds, castings, forgings, or other materials in accordance with approved procedures, codes, and standards.
• Analyze ultrasonic signals to distinguish between relevant and non-relevant indications, determine defect type, size, and location, and assess whether the component meets acceptance criteria.
• Record inspection results accurately, including calibration data, test parameters, and evaluation findings, ensuring traceability and compliance with quality requirements.
• Select appropriate probes, set up instruments, perform system calibrations, and verify equipment performance prior to and during inspections.
• Apply established UT techniques and, when authorized, adapt or develop inspection procedures to meet specific project requirements while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and client specifications.
• Provide guidance, training, and oversight to Level 1 technicians, ensuring safe and correct execution of UT tasks under supervision.
• Follow standards and procedures and monitor to ensure accuracy of results and meets quality and safety objectives and project time-lines.
• Maintain positive working relationships with Clients.

Requirements:

• CGSB UT Level 2 Certification
• Additional certifications are an asset
• IRATA training or willingness to obtain is an asset
• Strong work ethics
• Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients
• Exceptional safety and quality awareness
• Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
• Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level
• Valid driver's license
