Role:
The New Customer Onboarding (NCOB) Team Lead will work closely with the NCOB Manager in managing the NCOB team and its various functions. The NCOB team is responsible for onboarding new accounts, updating customer files, periodic credit reviews, standardizing NCOB processes, assessment of credit worthiness, file maintenance and storage.
Role Responsibilities:
Works in unison with the NCOB Manager to manage and oversee the day-to-day management of the team and their objectives.
Actively participates in facilitating standardization and centralization of all accounts.
Develops, leads and supervises the NCOB team to meet department objectives and provides guidance for each team member's personal development.
Helps provide ongoing training for the NCOB staff and sales staff.
Maintenance of accounts, including periodic credit review analysis of credit worthiness, with the goal of optimizing company sales and minimizing bad debt.
Communicates with Sales and other business partners.
Reviews and manages adherence to internal controls and policies.
Completes all relevant reports including month end reports and bad debt reports etc.
Assists system users with testing, training and problem resolution.
Manages relations with customers, credit reporting agencies and sales department.
Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
Enables, champions and embraces an inclusive culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
3 to 5 years of credit and collections experience in a fast paced and large company setting.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
College diploma in accounting or equivalent work experience.
CCP designation (or in progress) is preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Experience with credit scoring systems preferred.
Effective business writing, professional communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
Ability to deal with difficult situations and or people.
Thorough knowledge of credit related laws across Canada.
Familiar with security documentation such as personal guarantees, credit agreements & blanket security agreements.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to independently act and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Decisive.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and customer service skills.
Ability to manage projects and diverse project teams.
