Lockheed Martin Canada has a requirement to support tactical and operational training roles responsible for leading and overseeing the analysis, design, development, scheduling, integration, and delivery of training products and services across our current and future domestic and international programs, including tactical support Naval Warfare Officer and Non-Commissioned Officer Professional training, and direct support to junior operator professional training. This role will employ Junior Naval Subject Matter Experts (SME) to advise, develop, and deliver portions of Naval Operations and Warfare training, across all warfare domains, in collaboration with synthetic trainers for the Combat System scope of all sustainment programs. This includes participating as a member of the technical training team while working across discipline and product teams, This position will also fill multi-domain training support positions in the simulation environment as required. This position will report functionally to local leaders. The ideal candidate is proactive, dynamic and motivated to participate in the development and delivery of training solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide tactical level naval SME input into the analysis, design, and delivery of training products and services to meet customer Force Generation needs;
Support NTG training events and provide inter-program support LMC events;
Directly support the internal and external stakeholders to plan, prepare for, and deliver individual (IT&E) and Collective Training (CT) events in simulated training environments;
Provide classroom and Trainer support and provide naval SME input into training requirements for junior NCM training;
Support training in a variety of simulator roles such as Go Op, Helo Op, AWSS Op, Communicator, EWC (commensurate with previous experience);
Support the RCN by providing instructors with training support and scenario development;
Provide support to bi-coastal training teams as required to meet Customer priorities, this includes regular attendance to virtual meetings and travel to location when necessary;
Support program lines with testing support;
Support tours and demonstrations of the Customer's site as tasked by DND;
Identify and report discrepancies, issues, and observations pertaining to LM delivered products to LM supervisors;
Share lessons learned with peers and colleagues;
Support the maintenance of a proactive, mutually supportive relationship with our Customers;
Support a growth mindset; seek opportunities for further development, mentorship and experience as aligned to personal, team, program and business priorities;
Maintain a high standard of professional excellence; and
Work full-time at the Customer site with minimal supervision and following common LM processes; and
Support inclusivity in our day-to-day interactions, both internally across teams and programs, as well as externally with our Customers.
What you bring to the role
Education: Community College diploma in an Education-related discipline, or equivalent naval operations experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience;
Naval Experience: RQS1 / RQMS / RQ PO2 Naval Operator or equivalent qualifications;
Operational tour experience, post operational tour with warfare training establishments would be an asset;
Understanding of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Operations and knowledge of RCN cross domain operations;
Knowledge of training analysis, design, development and evaluation of comprehensive training programs. Familiarity with the Canadian Forces Individual Training Education System is desirable;
Understanding of CAF training establishment and processes;
Familiarity with RCN warfare occupations and training progression;
Experience with Lockheed Martin Combat Management System (CMS) 330;
Ability to instruct and mentor junior Naval Operators in a spectrum of naval tactical procedures; and
Relationship-focused mindset and a proven ability to support organisational level initiatives.
Additional skills desired for the role
Familiarity with RCN current and future ship platforms;
Familiarity with maritime Combat Systems, including Radars, Combat Management Systems, Communications, Weapons, Navigation, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Remote vehicles, Underwater Sensors;
Knowledge of RCN Combat Operator positions and roles;
CAF leadership training (PLQ, ILQ) is an asset;
