We are looking for a Naval Architect/Project Manager
to join our diverse and skilled shipyard team. As a rapidly advancing custom boat builder, Bracewell Marine requires project management talent to oversee new vessel construction projects. This is a technical leadership role providing hands-on naval architect and mechanical engineering support, and leading "engineering-to-build" projects. You will work closely with our shipyard general managers, shipyard coordinators, supply chain & logistics team, and our technical trades. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking for career advancement in a leadership role.
Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of new boat construction for pleasure vessels (power boats) and commercial vessels (tugboats, fishboats, pilot boats, etc)
Develop new construction project, material, and capacity plans
Develop project BOMs and coordinate with supply chain on all project materials
Develop production drawings and technical specifications as required
Establish and execute ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans)
Cad: Develop part geometries for 2D and 3D CNC
Cad: Prepare as-built plans
Develop lean manufacturing processes to enable extremely efficient build processes
Provide naval architect and mechanical engineering support for all Bracewell teams
Establish, maintain, and improve engineering documentation, drawing and configuration standards, and BOM structures
Track and assembly all construction records, equipment manuals and warranties, and operations manuals
Skills & Experience
Required: Naval Architect with a Mechanical Engineering background
Required: PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification or experience
Required: Knowledge of materials engineering, structural engineering and analysis, hydraulic system design, welding and machining
Required: Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD
Asset: Ship Constructor and/or Rhino capabilities
Asset: Understanding of fluid dynamics to assist with hull, propeller, and nozzle specifications, design, and modification
Asset: Understanding of electrical engineering, industrial electrical systems/controls (gensets, industrial power and controls), and marine electronics systems (navigation controls, stabilizer controls, electric/hybrid drives, etc)
Asset: Understanding or familiarity with Canadian and Lloyd vessel construction and commissioning standards

Salary depends on experience and education, $100K minimum
