We are currently seeking applications for a Naval Architect Engineer based in our St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador Office.



As a Naval Architect/Engineer you will provide technical oversight and support throughout the design, construction, testing, commissioning, delivery, modification, alteration and mobilization of multiple class vessels.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Naval Architect to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering innovative and high-quality naval architecture and engineering solutions for a variety of maritime projects. This position involves designing and analyzing vessels, producing detailed technical drawings/reports, and supporting engineering tasks.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Design and develop marine vessels and floating structures related equipment and systems. Inspect systems and equipment; prepare reports and ensure that relevant regulations are followed.
Conduct surveys and provide technical input for vessel modifications, repairs, or new builds.

Ensure all designs and deliverables comply with industry standards, Classification Society rules, and client requirements.

Develop and interpret 3D models of equipment, foundations, piping systems, and structures for client vessels. Create and interpret 2D drawings, including parts, assemblies, installations, and various diagrams. Work on Engineering Changes (ECs) related to ships, systems, and equipment modifications. Develop technical studies, drawings, and specifications for government and commercial vessels. Report writing and equipment selection. Complete structural analysis and design by way of engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Complete field work as required.

Qualifications:



Degree in Naval Architecture Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association Hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling and engineering design/integration projects in the marine industry Experience in vessel design, stability and surveying Proficient with AutoCad, FEA and Excel software Knowledge of steel, aluminum and fiberglass vessel design and construction Experience with Classification Societies and Transport Canada rules and regulations Applied experience with exposure to hull structure and outfitting. Minimum five years experience
Compensation will be dependent on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
