Job Description

Adams Lake Indian Band is seeking one Natural Resources Clerk for a 6-month fixed term with the possibility of an extension or fulltime transition depending on funding. Reporting to and under the direction of the Office Operations Manager or designate, the NR Clerk is responsible for assisting in organizing and coordinating office procedures and operations. The NR Clerk position will support monitoring the progress of Natural Resources and Title and Rights projects.

DUTIES INCLUDE



Maintain a positive, professional environment in accordance with Adams Lake Band policies and procedures Must follow Financial Administration Law and ALIB Finance/Accounting Manuals Assist in maintaining records, including contracts, change orders, purchase orders, work orders and invoices, and the ordering of supplies Assist in translating forestry operations into accounting and layman terminology Work with Office Operations Manager and Project Accountant to transfer/reclass expenses from/into related budget/financial accounts Assist in reviewing and approving supplier invoices related to a project Assist in ensuring that consultant/contractor agreements are signed and approved before project commences Assist with ensuring that the department bills are paid in a timely manner Support the health and safety policies and ensuring that they are being adhered to Assist the Office Operations Manager with office process and daily tasks Assist the GIS Department with Preliminary Field Reconnaissance (PFR) field and data entry and assist with Cultural Heritage data collection and organization Support with maintaining various referrals Help with the organizing and maintenance of SAFE Certification files and vehicle binders Assist in the field for projects that require support such as fisheries and parks Assist in maintaining and managing vehicle fleet routine maintenance schedules, cleaning and repairs Support in the Time and Billing of all projects for the Natural Resource Department Assist with daily/weekly scheduling of crews to several different projects Create and maintain equipment inventory, sign out and maintenance Liaises and communicates with external government agencies, businesses, funding agencies, customers and suppliers to maximize the effectiveness of the Natural Resources department and the Adams Lake Band Performs other related duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS



Certificate/Diploma in Administration or relative post-secondary education 1-3 years of relevant experience Class 5 BC Driver's License, an asset Accounting experience, an asset Experienced in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook Knowledge of electronics including iPad and GPS units RISC Certificate would be an asset Excellent listening, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Self-motivated and an ability to work independently Ability to multi-task, take initiative and achieve results Knowledge of Secwepemc culture preferred Reliability, dependability, and flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS




Those normally associated with a typical office environment. Continuous visual concentration on computer/laptop and/or calculator. There may be some field work required rom time to time.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT




6 month fixed term position with the potential for an extension or transition to Fulltime position dependent on funding.


On-Site - 6443 Hillcrest Rd, Chase BC


Wage offered will be dependent on education and experience varying from $22 - $24 per hour


Hours per week: up to 75 hours biweekly (max 37.5 hrs./week)
