Essential:

Job Synopsis The National Recruitment Coordinator will collaborate with Provincial HR, MCC Canada HR, Global Service-learning team (GSL), Communications and Development staff to develop and distribute recruitment tools, messaging, and procedures. This position will also work to coordinate the implementation of recruitment activities within Canada from the MCC Recruitment Strategy. In addition, it will coordinate the alumni experience and support colleagues in strategic engagement of alumni.

This position is available on a salaried basis. Only those candidates who are legally eligible to work in Canada should apply.

Challenges

Key Responsibilities Contact/Relationships:
This position requires the incumbent to act as a resource for and have regular contact with MCC applicants, MCC alumni, Provincial HR and Development Communication and Marketing (DCM) and Global Service Learning (GSL) staff The incumbent must be knowledgeable in MCC policies and procedures. Excellent oral and written communications skills are needed for persuasion and skilled responses.

Supervision:
No supervisory duties.

Complexity/Competencies:
The duties are diversified and include efficiency in resources, scheduling, organizational skills and detail work, ability to interact extensively with all levels of personnel and interpret policies.

Independent Action:
The position requires the incumbent to work independently as well as with external candidates, MCC staff and HR advisors. Most of the time in this position is spent multi-tasking with frequent interruptions. The assignments require a high level of discretion, judgment and sometimes, modifications.

Initiative and Ingenuity:
This position requires the incumbent to keep personal information confidential and build and maintain interpersonal relationships with applicants, HR team members and staff/managers throughout MCC. The incumbent must take initiative and possess creativity and ability to synthesize/analyze and share complicated information.

Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
The incumbent is required to provide (and collect) sensitive information and ensure timely communication with everyone involved in the relevant staffing or recruitment process. The position is required to direct the flow of information to multiple people and assist in resolving issues as required.
The incumbent is required to develop communication materials related to recruitment at MCC. As well, the position must communicate with external and internal stakeholders on recruitment matters and strategies.

Mental/Physical/Visual Demand:
This position exposes the incumbent to a frequent demand for exacting information and will often require extensive concentration.

End Result:
This position serves multiple departments, national, provincial offices, and constituents. It directly impacts MCC\'s in Canada and indirectly impacts the whole organization.

Recruitment Coordination

MCCC HR Network
In collaboration with MCC Canada HR Network, coordinate the implementation of a nation-wide recruitment strategy.
Work with provincial recruiters to identify, prioritize and address recruitment challenges, identifying opportunities for collaboration.
Facilitate and coordinate national recruitment initiatives, ensuring provinces have the tools and resources needed to participate effectively.
Initiate and coordinate recruitment activities with Canadian Donor Relations, Canadian Church Relations, Canadian Communications & other Canadian staff in order to ensure consistency of recruitment messaging.
In collaboration with Communications team, develop a wide range of digital and print deliverables and marketing swag to resource provincial recruitment activities.
Collaborate with provinces and other departments to develop and resource recruitment strategies that connect with Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
Provide tools and training that supports recruiters in building a diverse and inclusive workforce.

MCC Canada
Coordinate all aspects of the recruitment process for Primary Service Workers, Young Adults and short-term assignments in collaboration with MCC US.
Regularly resource all Canadian staff around general recruiting tools, messages, and best practices. Resource all staff to enable recruiting ambassadorship.
Ensure follow up with candidates in Canada who register to MCCs talent pool.
Ensure that emerging best practices for recruiting and selection are incorporated into selection processes resourced by Canadian recruiters.
Ensure that recruitment activities are compliant with or exceed regulations, and that MCC has sufficient policy and best practices to support selection, retention, and compliance in those areas.

Recruitment Relationship Building
Respond to invitations for speaking engagements or workshops and look for other ways to promote Young Adults programs.
Assist provincial MCC staff in identifying contact people, including organizations, institutions, and alumni, for Young Adult Programs within the province/region for the purpose of promotion of and recruitment for the program.
Attend recruiting events and represent MCC within the geographic constituency.
Coordinate regular recruitment meetings with Canadian MCC stakeholders, including provincial recruitment reps, Communication, Donor Relations, International Program.

Alumni Engagement
Model a future alumni engagement framework in collaboration with provincial offices.
Work with the provinces to initiate ongoing correspondence with alumni, updating about MCC\'s, and sharing stories of how service changed lives of alumni.
Coordinate maintenance of alumni contact/location info to connect alumni with engagement opportunities.
Work with the provinces to develop priority engagement opportunities for alumni to support and champion MCC that include donating, recruiting, speaking, volunteering (local or international), and mentoring.

Ensure continuity for domestic recruiter in the absence of the Recruitment and Training Specialist
Other duties as assigned.
