As part of our commitment to innovation and sustainability, we're launching a Climate Practice focused on helping organizations manage complex and evolving risks, and to help them understand, quantify, and transfer the financial risks associated with climate change



We're looking for a

National Practice Leader

to help build this new practice from the ground up. This is an opportunity to create, shape, and scale an offering that will help Canadian businesses adapt to an increasingly volatile environment.



The

National Practice Leader

will be responsible for developing and executing our national climate strategy, working across industry verticals to design solutions that help clients mitigate physical and transition risks. You will work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities, develop new products and partnerships, and establish our firm as a trusted leader in climate risk and resilience.



This is a true builder role for someone who is entrepreneurial, inquisitive, and driven to deliver outcomes. You'll be supported by a national team, but your success will stem from your capacity to bring structure to ambiguity, challenge the status quo, and move ideas into action.

Key responsibilities as a National Practice Leader




Build and lead the firm's Climate Practice strategy from inception to execution. Identify and develop climate-related risk and insurance solutions for clients. Collaborate with internal teams, insurers, and partners to create innovative offerings. Translate complex climate and financial data into actionable insights for clients. Represent BFL Canada as a thought leader on climate and sustainability issues. Support business development efforts by contributing expertise to client engagements and proposals.

An experienced professional who combines

strategic thinking with hands-on execution

. You thrive in new, unstructured environments and are motivated by the challenge of building something meaningful from the ground up.


10+ years of professional experience in consulting, finance, risk, sustainability, or related fields. Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and deliver measurable results. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into clear plans and deliver results through strong organizational and execution skills. Creative and analytical mindset; and is comfortable questioning assumptions to drive better outcomes. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Insurance or risk management experience is an asset but not required.
