This position requires a self-driven individual with the ability to overcome technical challenges within tight timelines in the design and development of RF and MW modules. The applicant needs good communication skills, planning abilities, creative in terms of problem solving and willing to work on multi-disciplinary tasks (mechanical and electrical). This position will interact with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical engineering, systems engineering and software engineering, as well as production and program management.
Your role
Plan, manage, design, execute and support of the development effort of MW modules from concept through to production readiness (including RF circuit designs, power supply oversights, mechanical design concepts and inputs, detailed design reviews, qualification setups and jig inputs, qualification support).
Provide support to production personnel as required.
Provide inputs to Material Review Boards as required.
Provide inputs for improvement of production processes.
Take design responsibility for allocated MW SRU's
Provide insight into "design for producibility" in new designs.
Perform requirements definitions and allocations, functional analysis and sub-systems synthesis and derive lower-level components.
Requirement's owner of the test environment of designated RF products as well as monitoring of test infrastructure development to ensure that the required test coverage is achieved.
Product baseline management of existing and new products.
Assist in the planning and management of the technical development process and monitor technical performance.
Be the technical interface to internal and external customers for assigned projects.
Co-ordinate and participate in system integration and test activities to achieve a system qualification.
Create and maintain documentation for Design, Planning, Requirements, Specification Tests and Results.
Assist with tracking status of obsolescence monitoring on all products as prescribed by the company obsolescence management process.
Creating and supporting Change Requests (CRs) as required.
Qualification
BEng. Degree in Electronic Engineering, RF, Microwave or Antenna designs or related technical field
Preferably an M. Eng. in Electronic Engineering, RF, Microwave or Antenna design.
Skills & Knowledge
Basic knowledge or experience in the Product development processes
Specialized RF and EM simulation tool chain knowledge
RF and Microwave design knowledge
Basic wideband RF receiver system architecture exposure
Experience and Competencies
Minimum of 3 years' experience in MW engineering and/or MW production environment
The use of RF simulation tools (preferably microwave office/ VSS) will be an advantage
MW production. MW Test & Tune knowledge will be an advantage
Good RF metrology exposure
Familiarity with programming languages i.e. Python, C, C++
Familiarity with production process development
Familiarity with various standards, i.e. IPC, MIL, ASTM
