After School Musical Theatre Instructor

Contract | $24-30/hr | 2.5 hours/day. 2-4 days/week |

About Us:

Queen's Academy of The Arts is a Black-owned, women-led, and LGBTQ2S+ founded performing arts organization offering inclusive musical theatre programs for children ages 4-10. Established in 2013 by Queen Alexis, the Academy was born from a deep commitment to equity, creativity, and community. We create spaces where all children--especially those who are often underrepresented--can feel seen, celebrated, and free to express themselves through music, movement, and storytelling. By bringing affordable, play-based programming directly into schools and community spaces, Queen's Academy is changing the landscape of arts education.

We're looking for

- Educators who are passionate about working with children, skilled in the arts, and grounded in values that centre diversity, and inclusion,--creating brave spaces where every child feels seen and inspired.

Position:

We're contracting Lead Teachers for our musical theatre afterschool programs at select Burnaby/Burquitlam elementary schools.

Work Dates:

ASAP (or January - June 2026. Option for 2-5 days a week. Teaching weekdays 3-5pm.

You'll:

Teach singing, dancing, acting games, and lead a final performance Foster a fun, safe, and supportive environment for students aged 5-8 All curriculum, materials, and supplies provided

Requirements:

MUST: Experience working with large groups of children (aged 5-8) MUST: Musical theatre, drama, or performing arts background Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) First Aid (or willing to obtain)

Pay:

$24-30/hour (depending on experience); flexible hours, contract-based.
