We are seeking a compassionate and creative music therapist with a strong piano background to support two neurodivergent children (ages 4 and 7) through music-centered emotional regulation, engagement, and developmental support. This role involves using piano as a primary tool for therapeutic interaction, fostering connection, confidence, and self-expression in a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based environment.
Responsibilities
Use piano-centered musical interventions to support emotional regulation, sensory integration, and social-emotional engagement
Create a safe, playful, and affirming environment where the children can explore, connect, and build confidence through music
Adapt sessions to the children's mood, energy, sensory needs, and interests
Foster musical exploration and interaction (including piano playing, improvisation, and structured music activities)
Track observations and collaborate with caregivers to support consistency across environments
Qualifications
Strongpiano proficiency, including improvisation and play-based techniques
Experience supporting children (ie. camps, classroom, sports)
Ability to build rapport through music-first, child-led approaches
Patient, flexible, and responsive to sensory and emotional cues
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
Certified or student Music Therapist (MTA, MT-BC, or in-progress) or equivalent experience in music therapy settings
Experience supporting neurodivergent children (ie. autistic kids)
Transferrable skills are also welcome
