Speak Squad is seeking a compassionate and skilled

Music Therapist

to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will utilize music therapy techniques to support patients' emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. This role involves working closely with diverse patient populations, including children and pediatric patients, in hospital settings or specialized care environments. The Music Therapist will play a vital role in enhancing patient care through innovative therapeutic interventions grounded in research and clinical best practices.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement individualized music therapy treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Conduct patient assessments to evaluate emotional, cognitive, and physical responses to music interventions. Facilitate therapeutic sessions that incorporate singing, instrument playing, songwriting, and listening activities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical staff, special education professionals, and case managers to coordinate care. Collect and analyze data on patient progress to inform ongoing treatment strategies. Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, patient responses, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients and their families about the benefits of music therapy and provide guidance for continued practice outside sessions. Stay current with research developments in music therapy, pediatrics, and related fields to ensure evidence-based practice.

Requirements



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program. Certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) or equivalent credentialing body. Experience working with children and pediatric populations preferred; Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and case management processes. Strong skills in data collection, documentation, and research methodologies related to clinical practice. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in healthcare or educational settings. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages and their families. Prior experience or familiarity with special education environments is advantageous.
