At Verellen Music Academy, we're passionate about teaching students to play and perform the songs they love, in a fun and interactive environment. With over 300 students, we specialize in a wide range of musical genres, and this position requires a strong emphasis on rock music. Our mission is to inspire creativity, foster musicianship, and build confidence through high-quality, personalized music instruction.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced
Guitar and/or Drums Teacher
to join our dynamic team. If you play alternate instruments, please feel free to still apply as we may have other openings in the near future. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in rock music, with the ability to teach both guitar and drums in a fun, engaging, and educational way. This position involves teaching both
private lessons
and
group classes
, and the ability to teach multiple age groups and skill levels.
In addition to guitar and drums, candidates who can sing, play piano, or are proficient in other instruments are highly encouraged to apply. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing academy and help inspire the next generation of rock musicians.
Responsibilities:
Teach private and group guitar and drums lessons with a focus on rock music.
Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs and goals of students.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
Prepare students for recitals, performances, and exams, as applicable.
Be an active member of the Verellen Music Academy community.
Maintain communication with students and parents regarding progress and feedback.
Requirements:
Proficiency in
guitar
,
drums
, piano or voice (Any 1 or multiple)
A minimum of
1 year of teaching experience
.
Ability to teach both private and group lessons.
Must be willing to commute to our location in
Windsor, Ontario.
Must have availability on Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
(additional hours during the week may be available as well).
Minimum 1-year commitment
to the position.
Ability to engage and motivate students of various skill levels.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred (but not required):
Ability to sing, play piano, or proficiency in additional instruments.
Previous experience working with both children and adults.
Experience with rock band coaching or ensemble work.
