We are looking for a passionate and energetic Music Teacher to join the Mechanics of Music community. Our school is not a traditional program where lessons feel like a chore. We focus on creativity, fun, and connection. Students often say their lessons here are life-changing and the highlight of their week. They form friendships, perform together in the community, and keep music as a joyful part of their lives.
What you'll do
Teach private and group music lessons for kids, teens, and adults. Ages 4-84
Deliver in-person lessons at our New Westminster studio with potential for some online lessons.
Create engaging lesson plans unique for each student and where they are at on their journey
Adapt lessons to students' needs, including adult beginners, seniors, and students with unique learning styles.
Lead group classes (2-12 students) that are interactive and fun.
Support community performances at local events, farmers markets, fundraisers, and retirement homes.
Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and enjoyment of music, even when students face challenges.
Show up on time and bring positive energy every day.
What we're looking for
Someone enthusiastic, reliable, and fun who wants to join our community.
Must be available for in-person teaching in New Westminster.
Experience teaching music or working with groups is great, but we are happy to train the right person.
Comfort with a wide range of learners, especially adult beginners who may learn at different speeds.
A love for performing and being part of community events.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students.
Formal training in music or years of experience is a plus, but not required.
