Gillam School is a thriving Nursery to Grade 12 school located 304 km north of Thompson on the Fox Lake Cree Nation Traditional Territory. Gillam is a prosperous community with a beautiful, newly-renovated recreation centre that includes: skating and curling rinks, a community library, a movie theatre and a fitness centre. The community is a recreational paradise offering fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and hiking trails. Other amenities include a hospital, pharmacy and grocery store.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education Degree Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for) Previous Music teaching experience Experience teaching guitar, keyboard, and other instruments The ability to read and instruct with sheet music Strong classroom management skills Experience working in a northern community Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life Experience working with students with unique needs A commitment to differentiated instruction A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn Self-motivated
