North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families, and communities. We are currently looking for Music Instructors to lead programs for adults, youth, children and parent participation classes for babies and toddlers.

ABOUT YOU
You are a team player committed to community. You will plan and instruct developmentally appropriate music classes and dynamic lesson plans. You will be working in a creative environment utilizing your leadership and people skills while maintaining a safe environment to engage students to expand their interest in music. You are an excellent communicator with a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
In-depth knowledge of music
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and supervisory skills
Proven ability to create and implement lesson plans
Ability to build a rapport with students, parents of students and staff
Some knowledge of community recreation principles and practices
Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Candidates must have formal music training and 2 years teaching experience. All instructors working with children must have a current Emergency First Aid certificate and HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Child Development training (available online through BCRPA).
All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check.

HOURLY RATE:
The pay for this casual position ranges between $25.58 - $38.38 per hour, based on education and experience, plus 4% vacation pay.
HOURS OF WORK:
Hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to work days, evenings and/or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. Candidates are preferably available Tuesday mornings and evenings (3:15pm - 7:45pm), as well as Saturday mornings.
