Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mushroom Farm Worker to join our oyster mushroom production team. This role supports multiple stages of mushroom production in a clean, controlled food-growing environment. Responsibilities include substrate handling, bag preparation, incubation support, harvesting, cleaning, and maintaining strict sanitation and food safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a hands-on agricultural setting. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in specialty food production and commercial mushroom farming within a supportive team environment.

Duties

Assist with oyster mushroom production, including substrate preparation, bag filling, and incubation support Harvest mushrooms carefully to meet quality and food safety standards Prepare, weigh, and pack mushrooms for distribution Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in growing, incubation, and processing areas Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols at all times Monitor production areas and report any abnormalities (contamination, pests, damaged bags, etc.) Support routine cleaning and disinfection of rooms, tools, and equipment Assist with inventory tracking and basic production records as required Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain an organized work environment

Experience & Requirements

Previous experience in farming, food production, or agricultural work is an asset but not required Willingness to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, bending) Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety Basic math skills for counting, weighing, and simple record-keeping Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.70-$18.00 per hour
