Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications from students to fill the summer position of Museum Programming Student to support our Department of Recreation & Community Facilities in beautiful Prince Edward County, a vibrant community with beautiful beaches, wide open landscapes and ample opportunities for outdoor fun, including artistic and cultural events,
food, music and wineries/breweries.
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Museum Studies, Performance Arts or a related field and will be returning to school in the Fall. The student will act as an interpretive guide for the exhibits at one or more of the five County Museums, both in person and virtually. Alongside curatorial staff, this student will effectively harness each site's potential for indoor/outdoor programming to ensure the County's heritage is made accessible through dynamic live and virtual programs. This position will also manage bookings
and registrations, accept payments, support participants, and assist with the set-up and take-down of program materials.
General qualifications include:
Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary program and returning to school in the Fall.
Be familiar with Microsoft Office applications, as well as video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet and Facebook Live.
Excellent communication, judgement, and decision-making skills.
Proof of a valid 'G2' or 'G' Ontario Driver's Licence.
Proof of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening Check.
Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
