The Opportunity:




The Engineering Services department has an opening for a Municipal Engineering Technologist II, this position supports development in the City by providing review, approval and inspection of municipal infrastructure related to development applications.




Accountabilities may include but are not limited to:

Review and approval of servicing drawings and reports Review and approval of grading plans Review and approval of stormwater management plans/reports Review and approval of Erosion and Sediment Control Plans Review and approval of Traffic Impact Assessments Field inspections related to subdivision development and development permits Represent Engineering Services in external and internal meetings

You Bring:



Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution and registered as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T); or A Degree in Civil Engineering with designation as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T), Professional Engineer (P.Eng), or Professional Licensee (P.L) A minimum of three (3) years' experience related to civil engineering Demonstrated experience reviewing technical drawings and reports related to municipal servicing standards Previous experience with development site servicing plans (DSSP) review Previous experience with the subdivision process, including drawing and report review Experience with field inspection/construction of municipal infrastructure such as deep utilities (water, wastewater, and stormwater) and road/surface works Ability to use AutoCAD and related software A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License (or equivalent) Ability to manage your time to meet deadlines on a variety of projects concurrently Strong oral and written communication skills

Additional Information:




This is a full time permanent position is (37.5 hours per week). It includes a comprehensive benefits package.




Use of a corporate vehicle is required and the successful applicant must have a valid Class 5 driver's licence (or equivalent).
