Multi Sport Coach - Kamloops

Summary:

PacificSport Interior BC is seeking an enthusiastic and supportive Multi Sport Coach to deliver a fun and inclusive program for participants on the autism spectrum, in partnership with Canucks Autism Network (CAN). Our CAN Multisport program supports participants in building confidence and physical literacy through a variety of physical activities; with a focus on floor hockey and basketball. You will be supported by PacificSport Interior BC's Sport Participation Coordinator, as well as CAN's onsite supervisor, support workers, and volunteers. Please note: you will be mentored by our current multisport coach from January to March.

Role & Expectations:

Lead and deliver weekly multisport sessions using CAN's provided lesson plans. Engage up to 12 participants at a time, ages 3-6 and 7-12 years old. Set up and take down of equipment before and after each session. Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. Guide group through transitions, and adjust lessons based on group needs/interest. Ensure participant safety, follow program guidelines, and report any concerns to the onsite supervisor.

Requirements

Participate in the winter programming alongside CAN program staff in preparation for leading the spring program. A passion for working with children and the ability to engage youth in physical activity Previous work with neurodiverse youth is an asset. Complete related training provided by CAN prior to start of the program. Completion of a Criminal Record Check prior to start of program. Valid Emergency First Aid

Beattie Elementary, Kamloops, BC

Dates:

Sundays, January 18-March 1, and April 12 - May 24 (1:15-3:30pm)

Compensation:

$23/hour honorarium.
