Future of Engagement (FoE) is a non-profit organization with the start-up mindset and the goal of making our democracy work for all communities in Canada. FoE leverages technology and data analysis to engage marginalized and underrepresented communities in all aspects of Canada's politics.
Informing communities about political processes and services
Bring together volunteers with diverse personal and professional backgrounds to develop resources for underrepresented communities.
Develop tools that help community leaders set up strategic campaigns, mobilize supporters, and promote their agendas.
Residents of low income neighbourhoods possess immense leadership quality, though are underresourced in being able to convey their value to wider communities. This role seeks to break down these barriers to capture diverse leaders in journalistic photography, and perpetuate biases about who a leader is. You will be responsible for planning, capturing, and curating diverse community leaders and their work within the Thorncliffe Park Neighbourhood through photography.
Tasks
Organize planned shoots, deploy resources to live events, edits, and disseminate
Be confident in working with underrepresented populations
Use photography for advocacy
Incorporate antiracism and inclusivity into art
Graphic design and social media management

2 month contract
$18 an hour, 35h/week
Must be under 30 years of age with either Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or refugee status
