Summary

Probity Health is seeking a qualified individual to provide Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Services at the Toronto Immigration Holding Centre (IHC) The chaplain will support the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of detainees from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Provide spiritual and religious support to detainees of all faiths and spiritual expressions. Conduct and facilitate prayer, study, and personal growth groups. Offer crisis intervention, grief counseling, and support for mental health and substance use issues. Assess spiritual needs and refer detainees to appropriate community resources upon release. Develop and deliver multi-faith religious and spiritual education programs. Maintain a visible presence in the IHC and collaborate with CBSA staff and other service providers. Prepare and submit monthly reports and weekly timesheets. Ensure compliance with protocols and security requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience as a multi-faith chaplain providing spiritual care and religious services.

Experience working in detention, correctional, healthcare, or military environments is preferred. Credentialed or officially recognized by a faith or spiritual community. Post-secondary education in religious studies, divinity, or related field is an asset. Ability to work with vulnerable populations including minors, individuals with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQI+ persons. Proficiency in English is required; bilingual proficiency in English and French is required for the Laval, QC location. Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and obtain Reliability Status security clearance.

Work Hours

Work with the existing team to cover up to 20 hours of service per week during business hours (Monday to Friday). Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special religious or spiritual events.

Job Types: Casual, Freelance

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 20 per week
