The multi-talented Carpenter is skilled in the following ways:
Rough and trim
Drywall repairs: drywalling, taping, mudding, sanding and finishing
Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim)
Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
Insulation and vapour barrier installation
Being awesome, in general!
Installation
Doors
Trim, moldings, and baseboards
Hardware installation
Cabinetry
Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
Framing
What you bring
The Multi-Skilled Tradesperson brings a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a 'get it done!' attitude. Additional abilities required include:
Interior carpentry repairs
Leadership to guide helpers and train less experienced workers
Ability to work well alone or in a team
Experience working in construction environments
Tools and the skills to use them
Strong people and communication skills
Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
A safety mindset
Valid drivers license
Ability to pass a criminal record check
Ability to communicate in English

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement- but only when absolutely necessary as per the manager.

Do you consider yourself to be a leader, organized and self motivated? This position requires a high degree of making logical decisions, training helpers, dealing with home-owners, schedules and job duties. Describe how you could be an asset to On Side Restoration:
Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule (Responding to emergency calls after business hours)? This is additional to scheduled daytime hours as per the schedule. Premium and overtime is paid. *this is only required during emergency situations and you would be notified. This position is mostly dealing with in-home repairs/restoration vs new builds.
Tell us about your in-home repair skills.
Are you able to work later than scheduled when required? A job may require an additional hour or two of overtime to be fully complete. Being available to work a bit extra to get the job done is helpful (vs returning the next day for a quick finish). Overtime is paid.
This position requires a multi skilled tradesperson who can go into a home that had flood or fire damage and be able to fix damaged areas in the home: repairing drywall, painting, fixing damage using rough and trim carpentry, etc. Please describe why you would be the best fit for this job:
Are you physically fit? This position can be physically demanding and requires a person to bend, crouch, reach, kneel, etc.
Restoration work requires documentation and tracking throughout your workday. Are you comfortable operating a phone to navigate through applications and record info as instructed?
Experience:
rough carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
drywalling/ drywall repairs/ patching: 1 year (preferred)
brush and roller painting: 1 year (preferred)
trim carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
home renovation: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
Canadian Driver's License (required)
