The successful candidate will have training and specialization in collaborative piano with a focus on either voice and/or instrumental accompaniment.Contemporary VoiceQualifications - Required: MMus or BMus and/or Licentiate or Artist Diploma and minimum 3 years experience accompanying voice at the post secondary education level, and regional/national/international profile as collaborative pianist for Contemporary Commercial Music, Jazz or Musical Theatre.Qualifications - Area of Specialization: Skilled at popular music styles (including common grooves for rock, pop, jazz, blues, reggae, rap, musical theatre), with established performance profile on piano in these genres, in bands, and for voice accompaniment. Experience in improvising, vamping, reharmonization, creating covers, and transposition. Exceptional sight-reading skills in traditional sheet music, lead sheets, and chord charts.Qualifications - Asset: Demonstrated record of success as a collaborative pianist at the university and/or professional level. Ability to lead a band from the keyboard (including drums, bass, guitar).
