Job Description
Diagnostic Services invites applications from qualified and experienced medical laboratory technologists for a permanent full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist position for the Histology Laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Sample receiving and identification
- Providing Teaching/Clinical Support
- Utilizing and maintaining the Tissue Processor
- Embedding of tissues
- Sectioning of quality histology slides
- Staining of slides
- Interpretating Stains
- Performing maintenance procedures
- Archival and Safety Duties
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) designation is required
- 2 years of related experience in a histology laboratory are required
- Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is an asset
- Excellent organizational, computer and communication skills are required
- Good bench skills are essential
- The ability to work under minimal supervision, to multitask and to troubleshoot technical issues at the bench and instrument level is desirable
